Uganda's estimated postharvest losses in tonnes for wheat ranged from 2,600 tonnes in 2010 to 3,498 tonnes in 2011. The estimated loss percentages fluctuated between 13.1% and 13.3%.
Within the value chain, the majority of the postharvest wheat loss is estimated to be happening at Harvesting/field drying. In Uganda, on average the highest quantity of wheat production occurs in Eastern.
