Tanzania's estimated postharvest losses in tonnes for wheat ranged from 11,632 tonnes in 2006 to 15,980 tonnes in 2010. The estimated loss percentages fluctuated between 13.8% and 14.2%.
Within the value chain, the majority of the postharvest wheat loss is estimated to be happening at Household-level storage. In Tanzania, on average the highest quantity of wheat production occurs in Manyara.
