Botswana's estimated postharvest losses in tonnes for millet ranged from 10 tonnes in 2003 to 543 tonnes in 2009. The estimated loss percentages fluctuated between 6.6% and 19.4%.
Within the value chain, the majority of the postharvest millet loss is estimated to be happening at Harvesting/field drying. In Botswana, on average the highest quantity of millet production occurs in Central.
