Burkina Faso's estimated postharvest losses for rice in 2021 was 62,866 tonnes or 13.9% which had an estimated value of more than 41 million US dollar.
As for nutrition 219 billion kcal were lost, which is the equivalent of more than 265 thousand people, in terms of annual nutritional dietary energy requirements.
