Zambia's estimated postharvest losses for millet in 2004 was 4,471 tonnes or 11.2%.
In the value chain, the majority of the loss is estimated to be happening at Harvesting/field drying, Winnowing, and then Transport from field. Highest estimated postharvest maize losses in tonnes were estimated to occur in Northern.
