Togo, Millet, 2011

Togo's estimated postharvest losses for millet in 2011 was 7,556 tonnes or 12.8%.

As for nutrition 27 billion kcal were lost, which is the equivalent of more than 32 thousand people, in terms of annual nutritional dietary energy requirements. In the value chain, the majority of the loss is estimated to be happening at Harvesting/field drying, Winnowing, and then Transport from field. Highest estimated postharvest maize losses in tonnes were estimated to occur in Savanes.
